Newcastle Reformed Evangelical Church exists to glorify God. We are a Gospel church that offers instruction, fellowship and pastoral care. In obedience to Christ's commands we exist to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world. We accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and practice. Our teaching ministry is based on the Westminster Confession of 1674, the Baptist Confession of 1689 and our Summary of Faith as contained in our constitution.

On church government
Our church is governed by elders who are responsible for the ministry of the Word and the pastoral oversight.
Deacons (who are usually men but may be women) are responsible for the caring ministry of the church. Both elders and deacons are required to accept without mental reservation the plain meaning of the constitution.
Elders and deacons are appointed (or removed) by the church members on the recommendation of the existing elders.
